Check what the container held and look for damage.
Wash or wipe the approved container.
Find the adult-prepared holes for extra water.
Add growing mix and a safe plant or seed.
Add the plant name and care picture.

Never reuse containers that held chemicals, medicines, sharp objects, or unknown substances. Adults make holes and remove sharp edges.
Follow each student's IEP, health, feeding, allergy, behavior, and mobility plans.

Students will follow a visual quality-check and planting sequence.
Students will inspect, prepare, plant, label, and test an upcycled planter for safe function.

Sensory Present one material at a time. Offer tools, gloves, observe-only, a scent-free choice, and a quiet break.
Motor Stabilize containers, pre-loosen parts, use adapted grips, and offer seated, standing, partner, or directing roles.
Learning Show the finished result, model first, use short visual steps, repeat, and record the least support needed.
